Christopher Columbus was born on 30th October of 1451 in Genoa(Italy),his parents were Domenico Colombo and Susanna Fontanarrosa.His first contact with the workplace was as humble artistan and merchant, but later he become a merchant seaman in the Mediterrean Sea.
In 1476 while he was in a journey by boat,the boat was attacked by French pirates near the coast of San Vicente (Portugal),he wrecked to Portugal, where he worked as comercial agent and travel to Madeira, Guinea, England and Iceland.
He thought that the earth was spherical and he also thought that he could go to Asia crossing the Atlantic ocean but he was wrong.
Based on this he began a trip to Spain for the support of queen Isabella.With the support of queen Isabella he began a trips series across the Atlantic ocean sarching Asia in three ships called: la niña, la pinta y Santa María; but he didn't knew about the existence of America who was located between he and his wrong objetive.
In his first trip he discovered the Guanahaní Island, Cuba and Santo Domingo,and back to spain believing that he was arrive in Asia,but he was discovered the American continent.In his second trip he discovered the Small Antillas,Puerto Rico and Jamaica,in his third trip he discovered Trinidad Island and Venezuela, for his fourth trip he arrive in the Central America coast.
He died in Valladolid(Spain) in the year of 1506, believing that he was arrive in Asia, but he never knew that he was discovered a "new world".
